This was the big, spectacular, university student festival. All day long, clubs run booths selling food and crafts to raise money for their club activities. There were also many events and, of course, the school rock bands and dance groups all performed. Now in my case, I participated as a club member for the Ehime University Symphonic Band. People came by our booth and the percussion section leader, Myon, yelled out "Dango ikaga deshou ka?" (How does dango sound?). My role was pretty glamorous, I would put the topping on the dango. Things like kinako powder, chocolate, azuki, or orange frosting.
Before it ended, I went to go see my tutor Rin's club activities. She and her group were making artwork out of ocean plastic. I wasn't able to see the whole thing but it was fun!
Before that, my host-grandma, Junko, wanted to take me out to sushi. So we enjoyed some nice local conveyer-belt sushi at Sushiemon. Because I had to go, she actually drove into campus and dropped me off. It was very nice.
Afterward, I went to my "official" host family's house and we played mafia (called jinrou in Japanese), and everytime one of the kids (Naoki) had his head down, his dad would tickle him so that he would scream. Very fun times!
