A while back I was invited to an event by Mr. Saku. If you remember, he is quite a character. Apparently there was going to be a "Germany" Festival in the historic Dogo neighborhood, even though it was raining. I think that I actually walked all the way there from the dorm. It was probable like 25-45 minutes. It was super hot and humid, and it did rain. But I did it anyways.
I met up with Saku in this parking lot where the event was supposed to be. It turned out that because it was raining, almost all of the vendors cancelled. The only one who was there was Klaus representing his German bar. He was selling things, but I thought it was too expensive and didn't get anything. We basically just stood there in the rain talking. There was another thing up the hill a little bit. A wine bar was doing a special German wine tasting. We went up and Saku tried things. It was absolutely packed in there, probably because the building was small. On the ceiling and walls were scrips of paper with messages and pictures drawn by their customers. There were many from Japan, and some from other countries.
After that, we didn't know what else to do. So, we went back to the Dogo shopping street and looked around. There was this new shop that was parodying Baskin Robbins (31) by selling tons of different flavored dango, and you could choose up to three. We tried it, and it was really good. I hope it's still there. After that we tried some mikan ice cream (which was kind of expensive.)
