Today starts July! You know what that means, time to bring the heat! And not in a good way, because Summer has really rough rainy seasons, and heat, and humidity. It's not the greatest. But that also meant that there was going to be more stuff to do. Like today, which meant English club. We still didn't have Summer break, we had to wait a while for that.
Today, as always, we met up and chatted in a club room, before diving into a group activity. Afterwards, we chatted more and then it was time to leave. We went outside in front of the University Hall, but this time there was an activity for us.
In early July there is the Tanabata festival (or Star festival). People write their wishes on a piece of colorful tanzaku paper and tie it to a tree. I had actually presented on this festival several times since I started learning Japanese, so I was very excited to actually experience it.
In front of the university hall there was some almost dead-looking tree with tons of wishes tied to it. We were going to add some. You can see my wishes below.
