This morning when I woke up, the sliding class door in my room was completely fogged up and I was wondering what was going on. Luckily there weren't many plans. When I went out to the dorm cafeteria, there were buckets everywhere and water was falling out of the lights in the ceiling. Eventually water started coming up through my floor in my bathroom. I was able to eat my lunch in peace, and then grabbed my umbrella and went to check the river that flows nearby. The water was completely brown and almost at the point where it would overflow. Later I was shown a picture from one of the Korean students where there was major flooding downtown. This was an interesting insight into one the rainy season (June-July) will be like.
By the way, typhoon is very similar to the same word in Japanese, taifuu 台風 which I guess means "standing wind."
