Today, Rin was going back home to Kure before she began working. So before she did, we went out to eat lunch. I recommended a little udon shop that was near my dorm which was delicious and had a student discount. We ordered our food and talked about different things. I asked about her work and we just kept the conversation flowing. The udon I ordered was one I had never had before and it was absolutely delicious.
In the afternoon I headed over to Daimon-san's house. He told me to take a taxi and he would give me a coupon. I had some of the other students come with me and as the taxi was driving I saw that one of the UCLA students was walking through the neighborhood towards his house. He rushed out of his house to greet us and had over the coupon to the driver, so that we didn't need to pay. Then I went and told him I saw another student walking and so he grabbed his car and we went to get her. If I remember correctly her name was Michelle.
We get her and went back up the incline, saving her from the worst part. From there we all went back to socializing, as the firework festival would be in the evening and it was only in the 3 pm. Daimon brought out tons of stuff like watermelon, and we enjoyed it along with his family and friends. I got to see Fuu-chan too.
By 5:30 Daimon had put food on the barbecue and we were stuffing our faces. Beef with amazing sauce and corn and onion.
I got a great picture of the two UCLA students Jo and Michelle and sent it to them. There were tons of people who had come to set up cameras so they could get good pictures when the fireworks explode on the other side of the castle. Daimon-san's farm was a prime location for that.
A very red sunset appeared at 7 pm and shortly after that I helped Daimon-san set up a TV which was broadcasting the festival live. Thanks to the 20x zoom on my phone I was able to get good pictures (comparatively).
Some of our classmates had gone out to the Mitsuhama town (where the fireworks were) to see the display in person. According to them it was the worst flood of people they had ever seen and it took them forever to hitch the train out of there. Even though the fireworks weren't as impressive from so far away, I was glad not to be caught in that traffic.
Once the fireworks were over, we all started heading back, and after getting Daimon to sign my memory book, I was on my way as well.
