On Saturday today, I went to see a play! It was one done by one of the middle schoolers who visited Sacramento, Saki. The musical was about the city of Toon, where the theater is located. Her parents reserved a ticket for me so I didn't have to wait in line. I don't remember too much as it was completely in Japanese. However, the main characters were a boy (played by Saki) and a girl, and the local deity is a tanuki raccoon that may be evil? It was fun, and the music was good. They showed off one girl actress who must be famous in the area. My favorite were a group of samurai police officers who were very wacky. When it was over, I told her she did good, and she gave me a DEEP bow to say thank you. She is very funny, and probably the most extroverted kid on the island of Shikoku.
After that I headed back home. I admired the scenery of the particularly nice day for January. So, "Toon-town" as other foreigners call it, is a very small city that lies just East of Matsuyama. Everyone tells me that there is a whole lot of nothing there, except for the theater which I visited. That's it, I also don't have anything else to say other than I saw two teens walking around blasting Japanese hip-hop on some portable speaker.
Since it was nice out, I thought that I should go somewhere. So naturally, I went and asked tons of the other guys in the dorm if they wanted to go too. I was able to assemble a group of at least 3-5 other guys and Anna. None said that they had been to Ishiteji, so that's where I took them. We all biked 20-30 minutes up to it, and checked it out. I described it before when I went to Matsuyama for the short January trip. But anyways, they hadn't been there before so we walked around to see everything, ring the giant 108 worldly desires bell, walk through the cave with bats, buy souvenirs, eat yakemochi, and leave.
I think on this day, Anna and I took them to the German bar, First we went to an izakaya named Minshuto, before they said they didn't really care for the food and wanted to check out the bar. We went over, I don't remember what we did but they did enjoy it. Then they went somewhere else and I went home. The end.
