Near my dorm is a large hill called Miyukijiyama or "Miyuki Temple Mountain." The first time I went there was for class with my professor Tokuoka, but since then I have gone several times of my own accord. For the Spring semester at Sac State, not Ehime University, I took an online course. It was called "RPTA 124 - The Science of Nature Engagement and Human Health & Wellbeing." It is a mouthful and very much scientific. We had to learn about the actual chemical-physiological-psychological changes that occur in human bodies when we interact with nature. This very much put the science in my bachelor's of science.
Well, anyways, one day we were told that we had to present a video presentation on some aspect of nature engagement. So, since I had already done a Forest Bathing project at the Cosumnes River Preserve, I decided that I would do that again. So, on a nice day I climbed up to the top of the mountain to a spot where it was very lush and shot some takes. I did a long English one, and a short Japanese one. You can watch them below.
After I finished enjoying the hill, I started climbing down when I noticed that a camera crew was coming up. I tried to quietly walk around them as they were filming, but it turned out that by chance they were doing a program on hiking in Ehime prefecture and wanted to interview me. I said okay and shared my thoughts, which you can find below. They cut out a whole bunch of the dialogue, but it's alright. They were the Ehime Access Television (EAT).
