Remember the dorm manager who took Manu and I to the seaside train station, Yawatahama, and Ozu? Well he wanted to take both of us to the biggest shrine festival of the year. There is a big shrine called the Tsubaki Shrine and they hold a festival when the Moon is said to be the "strongest." Like last time, Mr. Sogabe drove us from the dorm over there, and omg parking was so bad.
We walked down this path which dozens of stalls lined, and went through the shrine's torii gate and walked around. I bought a Moon charm, which was neat, and then we grabbed some okonomiyaki. There were vendors selling a type of rake door charm, which Mr. Sogabe told us is meant to "rake" in good luck and other things. Then we went and tried goldfish scooping, which is funny as that is a very Summer activity, but was taking place in February. Manu actually won some, and we had to decide what to do with it. We also tried Turkish kebab, and I got a candied apple to take home.
The entire time, Mr. Sogabe would not let us pay for anything. Also, he took the goldfish and put them in an aquarium for our dorm. It was cool.
