Besides my normal Sunday routine, today I went to the Russian Prisoner-of-War Cemetery. It is located very close to the dorm, and since it is historical and I had free time, I decided to check it out. The prisoners were from the Russo-Japanese war of 1905, and wanted to be POW's. They were treated so well that it was more of a Summer camp than a POW camp. Soldiers would shout "Matsuyama!" After all of this time it is still taken care of. I was surprised to find a grave for two Americans. It said that they were unknown pilots who crashed on August 9th, 1945. There is a decent view, but not much else.
A few days before the end of the semester, I asked people from all of my classes if they wanted to celebrate the end of the semester together. After extensive surveying, and learning how to coordinate things, we decided to go visit Kisuke, an amusement complex.
Kisuke is like Round 1, an arcade and bowling alley combo. But that's not all that they have. Depending on the location there are pool tables, ping pong, food and bars, karaoke, trampolines, boxing, and more. The best part is that you pay hourly, so you don't have to worry about paying to do everything.
I think that there were about 12 people, including Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, German, British, Norwegian, Zambian, and other classmates. We all did bowling, and I felt bad because one of my Chinese classmates broke her nail.
We were in there a while, and then took a group photo and left. It was super fun, and I recommend it.
Afterwards, the girl who broke her nail, Yo, and one of my Taiwanese classmates, Koh, invited me and a classmate from Norway to "the best Chinese restaurant in Matsuyama." We all speak English, decently. We are led to a table, and when I sit down the leg breaks. We laugh it off, the staff apologize, and I tell them its okay, We order a ton of good food including barbecue and mapo tofu.
Our Chinese classmate Yo asks "Do you like the food" to which we respond "Yes." My Norwegian classmate asks our Taiwanese classmate Koh, "So, this is food you usually eat in China?" Then Koh sarcastically responds "Yes because Taiwan is part of China." Right then our Chinese classmate Yo waves her hands back saying "NO NO NO NO." The Norwegian and I started dying of laughter.
It was a fun night.
