Sac State isn't the only American university that partners with Ehime. One of the stronger partnerships is the College of Lake County near Chicago. There were a small group of students who had come for a short study-abroad trip. Jeremy and I were invited by Hidding-sensei to an event with them. It was held in a large traditional Japanese room near the school office building. We biked there in the morning, and met the group of around a dozen students. A couple different school groups came to perform for the students. I think that they were the Traditional Instrument Club and the English club. Afterwards they set it up so you could try using their koto instrument. There were a ton of activities for the students, and I helped prepare some snacks for everyone.
After everything was over we left the building and they went back to their hotel in Dogo. It's kind of fuzzy, but I think we did something and then met back up with them later in the evening for karaoke. I think that we still saw them here and there after the day, but we would not be having any classes with them.
