A while back, back on April 15th, I was introduced to a massive bug larvae that was found by Saku (who I have mentioned before). Apparently it was of a kabutomushi (rhinocerosĀ beetle), so my professor Tokuoka put it into a bug container with soil and food to try to raise it.
We had a discussion on what we should name it. I said that in America, "Fido" and "Lassie" are really stereotypical dog names, and it would be funny to give the beetle a dog name. So we decided on "Fido" because it was male.
Our professor made this green looking jelly to feed the large beetle. Calling it "junk food" he had us try some and we were all nervous about it. It turned out to just be melon flavored jello.
So on this day, I was finally able to see Fido-kun in his full glory. Our professor took him out and put him on an old newspaper. He was really mellow and did not move much.
