I woke up bright and early on this day so I could meet up with Kim Yoogon. We were gonna go experience the holiday Hatsumoude together. Hatsumoude means "First Visit" and refers to people going to visit a shrine or temple on the first day of the year. I don't remember what time of day it was, but we biked over to the largest shrine in the area, Ehime Gokoku Shrine. We didn't actually wait in the long line to bow and pray, but we went to take a picture and try food. After that we decided to bike up to Dogo to visit the very historic Isaniwa Shrine. We actually waited in the long line and went all the way up the stairs to visit the shrine. We had a late lunch and went to a food truck in Dogo. After that we went up to the not-so-popular Matsuyama Shrine. It had a huge staircase and a great view. I actually bought a safe driving good luck charm here which I still keep in my car. That was it! A day full of waiting in lines.
